Jill + Sterling

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Jill and Sterling have planned an absolutely gorgeous wedding at The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island. With the wedding scheduled on April 25th the weather will be perfect. I can totally visualize Jill and Sterling facing each other with the ocean in the background. The seagulls swirling in the distance, the wind blowing her veil as the two of them exchange rings. The moments captured will be exquisite. Can't wait!!!

Jill and Sterling met and reside in NYC. Since NYC has a sentimental value for this couple, they flew me up for their Engagement Session. Here are a few shots.

Susan + Karl

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

Some of my clients become more than just clients, they become friends. This is indeed the case with Susan and Karl. I went out to Downtown Live last week after working out and was surprised to see Susan and Carl. Through the process of initially meeting last year to the engagement, bridal. eating lunch with Susan and her mom, you get close to couples and even their family. I am so blessed to have clients like Susan and Karl. You guys make my job so much fun.

Susan and Karl are getting married at Buncombe Street Methodist downtown Greenville on May 17th with a reception at the Poinsett Club.

Ashley & Will

Friday, April 18, 2008

Ashley and Will are getting married on October 11th in the Historic District of Greenwood SC at a private residence. For the engagement we decided on Falls Park and captured some great shots of this couple and even a few of their black labrador. Engagement shoots are encouraged for several reasons. First and foremost, it's an opportunity for the groom to meet the photographer. Secondly it allows the couple to get comfortable in front of the camera prior to the wedding. Lastly it adds I think to the experience and also allows family and friends to view the documented love you share. We all have those friends who have to see it to believe it. Or maybe they just didn't realize how much in love a couple may be in. Thus a photograph can serve many purposes.

Ashley and Will were terrific subjects, and I look forward to documenting the wedding.

Cristan + Allen

Monday, March 31, 2008

I absolutely LOVE my brides and grooms! Even on a gloomy overcast day that had a slight drizzle, Cristan and Allen were still up for their scheduled engagement shoot. I totally left it up to them and after receiving the thumbs up I quickly grabbed an umbrella and headed downtown. I have been reluctant shooting downtown in Falls Park because everyone photographs there but Cristan and Allen hold the downtown area dear to them. That's where they first met and presently reside. So why not? I can capture unique images that others haven't? I am The Storyteller, right? Well, with a willing bride and groom and an open perspective I know we achieved the look we wanted. Thanks to Cristan and Allen...Enjoy your slideshow.

Elisabeth & Joel

Tuesday, March 25, 2008

I am so pleased to have met Elisabeth and Joel. They are truly fascinating and such a delight to work with. We traveled to Wild Dunes and Sullivan's Island for an engagement shoot. Regarding engagement sessions, I try to keep it simple and feed off the mood of the couple. Even though I "set up" the shot, I still let moments and personalities flow naturally. Joel and Elisabeth did an awesome job being themselves, and love how they interact with each other. Joel happens to be an avid triathlon participant, and is also an official Iron Man. Elisabeth is so personable and her soft charm really embraces you. A perfect contrast for Elisabeth and Joel. Enjoy the slideshow below.

Cali + Shawn

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Cali & Shawn reside in Nashville but have planned a beautiful and intimate wedding on Edisto Island. I truly get excited every time a bride and groom select me as their wedding photographer. Plus traveling always adds an element of enthusiasm. Cali and Shawn met through a mutual love for cycling. I informed them that Greenville, SC was actually voted #2 in the US for cycling. With the rolling hills and beauty of North Greenville's mountains, especially in the fall, gives this sport a perfect home. I had the honor of photographing George Hincapi at a speaking engagement at BMW USA. Learning of his struggles and triumphs while riding with Lance armstrong was motivational. The more I write here the more I feel the need to purchase a nifty bike. Maybe Cali and Shawn will give me a few ideas. Anyway here are a few photographs from the shoot in Nashville, TN.

As it got dark I asked them to sit on this bench. The final result appears to be an ad saying, "Call now and you can find true love like Cali and Shawn".

If shot correctly night photography can project romance. Notice how it's not anything Cali and Shawn are trying to project, but more of the setting and atmosphere.

My favorite!!!!
